TeacherAde: What It's About

About TeacherAde: TeacherAde is the response to the lack of findings on informative blogs for teachers. I have sense found some pretty good places to network. Included are Classroom 2.0, Free Technology 4 Teachers, Education Week, and The Principals Page. It is amazing to me how you think you have the answer to an unsolved question and then you start researching and find that many, many , many others who have already come to your same conclusion.

In total vivid honesty, there is nothing here at my sight that you can not find in other places on the web, however this site will provide a broader perspective on the entirety of the educational industry. The TeacherAde belief is that there are numerous ways to improve American Education, but the best is to help the teachers in America be better teachers.

Topics of discussion range from the best methods of teaching to the best brown bag lunches and from trends in education to policies and procedures. If your a teacher and you feel like you need some help then TeacherAde is here to help you.

About the Author: My name is Marcus Byrd, I am currently a student at the University of West Georgia. I married Angela Lynn Alsobrook in July of 2010. We live in Dallas Georgia and are working on getting a solid foundation for the rest of our lives.

I have worked as a substitute teacher since I graduated high school in 2007 and worked as a paraprofessional for 2 full school years. I am working on being a professional educator but have not got that far in my career.  My reason for writing this blog is that I try to become the best possible version of myself.

I wanted to be responsible and smart with my money, and so I began reading Get Rich Slowly. It helped me with my personal finance life as a young man and helped me achieve financial security as a paraprofessional.

I wanted to be a better person, husband, or man and so I stumbled on The Art of Manliness. It has helped me define what matters to me and how I want to be perceived. I am not swayed by others because I am sure of myself and my beliefs. I can be influenced by compelling logic and reason but do not get carried away with any fad that comes along.

I want to be an educator and so I wanted to find a site that helps me be a better educator. One that offers discussion about different elements of educational topics. The problem was that I had some difficulty finding a quality website that I really liked and wanted to follow.

After some consideration I decided to begin writing TeacherAde. I hope that this site can do for educators what Get Rich Slowly does for personal finance readers. Offers quality information in an attractive, easy to read format and over time gives a comprehensive view of what the education industry is all about.

Let me hear from you? What do you or don't you like about the TeacherAde? Is there something it needs to make it better? Have you enjoyed the first two weeks of articles?
