The Best Of January 2012

This post outlines the best articles that have been on TeacherAde, and it also includes other interesting articles that I have found on other blogs or other sites. Enjoy.

Top 5 articles from TeacherAde
  • How I Learned to Juggle - This is the story of how I failed chemistry in high school, but in the process I learned to juggle. The neat thing about that is I also learned what my teachers expectations of me were (in this case there were no expectations).
  • Expectations - We need high expectations for our students to succeed. Shoot for the stars and even if you don't hit your target you will be close to the moon. This is a good article that reminds us of the importance of keeping high expectations in the classroom.
  • Google Docs - This informative article takes a look at Google Docs and shares how it can be used by teachers to increase collaboration and productivity.
  • The Child Driven Education - This is a TED talk by Sugata Mitra who explains why schools should be moving toward a child centered education.
  • Creating a Legacy Project - This post was a motivational peice that I shared after reading Chris Guillebeaus' The Tower. Chris is the author of the blog Art of Non-Conformity. A very nice blog that has a lot of articles that are good for motivation.

I have to apologize, TeacherAde has taken a back seat to another professional project that I have undertaken this month. In doing so I have not been reading the blogs that I customarily keep up with therefore I do not have suggestions for other readings.
