In this post Howard Rheingold discusses the growth and basis for collaboration. (Note: He is not speaking about education specifically.) This is an interesting talk in itself, but when thinking about education and the possibilities that collaboration provides is extraordinary. The idea is that instead of beating the opponents, working with them for the greater good. That is brilliant. Teachers working with teachers to create better lessons only makes things easier and better.
Students working with students provides everyone with greater potential. Collaboration is an excellent tool when used correctly. The only concern is how to use it correctly in Education...
