Every year I make resolutions that are intended to make me a better person. I usually separate the resolutions I make into 3 categories.
- Personal
- Professional
- Spiritual
My personal goals include my relationships with friends and family, health, and financial goals. I do not make a resolution for each one of these, in fact, I usually only make one resolution for this category that way I can focus on it. My personal goal this year is to make my net income increase by 15%. I have three different approaches to making this goal a reality. We will see how it goes.
My professional goals are a little more specific. I want to TeacherAde to grow and become recognized and read by more people. I am also working on a side business designing websites. I am also looking into becoming Google Apps Certified. Many of these are not as much resolutions as they are goals. I am a goal setter, it helps me stay focused and feel like I have purpose.
I am also spiritual. This is not a spiritual blog and I will not subject my readers to my personal beliefs but I also make resolutions for my spiritual life.
I am interested in the resolutions that people make. Perhaps an appropriate resolution for teachers is to use technology in the classroom, or to increase the passing rate for your class. My resolution for education is to have my lessons prepared at least a week in advance so that all I have to do is review my plans.
