Move on When Ready is a state bill in Georgia. The House Bill 149 was signed into law in April of 2009.
The MOWR act is a new dual enrollment opportunity in which high school juniors and seniors can enroll in any post secondary institution.
The neat part about this is that students who opt into this program will receive high school graduation credit at the same time as college credit.
It sounds like double dipping to some but to me it is an amazing opportunity for the gifted students in Georgia.
The bill has provided a means for funding the program so that students can move on with no large college expenses. They can enroll into a full 12 hour semester and have it completely paid for.
If you have a student who you believe could benefit from this legislation, please urge them to take advantage of it.
This is an opportunity of a life time. College expenses are rising every year. Don't make the students who are ready wait to be challenged.
